Nalumango Urges Chiefs to Support Development Now
VP Nalumango Meets Traditional Leaders in Mbala
Vice President Mutale Nalumango has called on traditional leaders to work closely with the government to accelerate development and improve the lives of citizens across Zambia.
Speaking during a meeting with Senior Chiefs Nsokolo and Tafuna in Mbala, Nalumango said strong partnerships between government and traditional leaders are vital in delivering meaningful development to local communities.
She noted that the current political season offers Zambians an opportunity to support leadership that is delivering tangible results. According to the Vice President, this is one reason some opposition leaders have suspended their presidential ambitions to support President Hakainde Hichilema’s re-election bid.
Nalumango further appealed to the traditional leaders to back initiatives that promote national development, stating that Zambia should continue building on the progress already achieved rather than reversing it.
Meanwhile, Senior Chief Tafuna said Zambia’s foreign exchange reserves, now standing at approximately US$6.5 billion, reflect a stable economic outlook and demonstrate positive progress for the country’s economy.
