StarZambian Musicians Left Out Despite Strong Industry Growth and Regional Success

The official FIFA Club World Cup 2026 album has brought together some of the biggest names in global music, with several African artists earning spots on the highly anticipated project.

The album features Nigerian superstar like Davido, highlighting Africa’s growing influence on the international music scene.

Other international artists included on the project are Nelly Furtado, Avra Starr, Latto, Alejandro Fernandez and legendary rock band The Rolling Stones. Their inclusion is expected to help make the soundtrack one of the most talked-about music projects connected to a major sporting event.

However, the lineup has sparked debate among Zambian music fans, many of whom have questioned why no Zambian artist was selected despite the country’s growing music industry.

The omission has renewed discussions about international exposure, global collaborations and what local artists need to do to secure opportunities on major international platforms.

Many fans believe Zambia has enough talent to compete at the highest level and represent the country on projects of this magnitude.
