Zambian singer Towela Kaira has reportedly deleted a social media post in which she accused the late model and socialite Lisa Mutambo’s partner of physically abusing her, following the release of a police statement giving a different account of the circumstances surrounding Lisa’s death.

The controversy began after news of Lisa Mutambo’s death circulated on social media. Amid claims that the 25-year-old model had been physically assaulted before her death, Towela expressed anger in a Facebook post and called for justice.

Police said Lisa was later picked up by her boyfriend, who dropped her friends off before remaining with her at their residence in Kalundu.

Police reported that after arriving at the residence, Lisa began vomiting before becoming unconscious.

Her boyfriend reportedly contacted a friend who assisted in taking her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers subsequently processed the scenes as investigations began into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Importantly, police stated that no physical injuries had been observed on Lisa’s body.

Her body was initially taken to FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Social Media Users Turn on Towela

Following the police statement, Towela’s earlier post attracted renewed attention.

Some social media users criticised her for making serious accusations before authorities had established what happened. Others called on the singer to apologise to Lisa’s partner, arguing that allegations of physical abuse should not be treated as established facts without proper investigation.

The backlash reportedly came as users noticed that Towela’s earlier post was no longer available on her Facebook platform.
