Mundubile Promises Expanded Free Education Plan
Brian Mundubile Pledges Uniforms, Books and School Buses
Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has pledged to introduce what he describes as a more comprehensive free education system if elected, promising additional support for learners and teachers across Zambia.
Speaking during his campaign, Mundubile argued that the current free education policy under the UPND government has not fully achieved its intended objectives. He claimed that his administration would strengthen the programme by ensuring learners receive essential school materials at no cost.
According to Mundubile, his proposed education package would include free school uniforms, textbooks, school shoes, and transport for pupils. He said the initiative would first target learners in rural communities before being gradually extended to urban areas.
The presidential hopeful also outlined plans to improve the welfare of teachers by offering better salaries and enhanced employment benefits. He said every school would be provided with a dedicated vehicle or modern bus to transport teachers, a move he believes would improve safety, reduce transport challenges, and enhance the delivery of quality education.
Mundubile said investing in both learners and teachers is key to improving Zambia’s education sector and ensuring that children have equal opportunities to succeed regardless of where they live. His proposals form part of his broader campaign promises ahead of the August 2026 General Election.
