Zambian Star Earns Spot at Berlin Music Video Awards

Zambian hip-hop artist Cleo Ice Queen has departed for Germany after her work was selected for a prestigious Silver Screening at the 2026 Berlin Music Video Awards.

The recognition marks a major achievement for both the artist and the Zambian creative industry, placing local music and storytelling on an international platform. The Silver Screening category celebrates outstanding music videos that deliver powerful and meaningful messages.

According to the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM), the nomination reflects the growing global appeal of Zambian music and the strength of its cultural storytelling. The association described the selection as a proud moment for the country’s entertainment sector.

Cleo Ice Queen is traveling with an official delegation that includes ZAM Secretary General Chomba Lesa-Malembeka, her personal assistant Keisha, and an official photographer. ZAM says the trip demonstrates its commitment to supporting artists on major international stages.

The association also thanked the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and the National Arts Council for funding the trip, saying the support highlights government recognition of the creative industry’s potential to contribute to national development.
