Rich Bizzy Speaks Out Over Show Cancellations
Artist Calls for Fair Treatment of All Musicians
Musician Rich Bizzy has expressed concern after claiming that some of his scheduled performances at government-related events were cancelled following his appearance at an opposition political rally.
In a statement, the singer said performances at the Serenje and Nkeyema Agriculture and Commercial Shows were allegedly withdrawn because of his participation in a political event. He argued that musicians should be allowed to perform for different audiences without facing discrimination.
Rich Bizzy emphasized that music is his profession and primary source of income, not only for himself but also for members of his team who depend on the industry for their livelihoods.
The artist further noted that many musicians perform at political events organized by different parties and continue to participate in government programs without facing similar challenges. He questioned why some artists should be treated differently based on perceived political associations.
According to Rich Bizzy, his music promotes entertainment and positive messaging rather than personal attacks or political hostility. He called for equal opportunities, tolerance, and fairness for all artists regardless of the events they choose to perform at.
The singer concluded by urging stakeholders to ensure that professional opportunities are awarded based on talent, conduct, and professionalism rather than political affiliation.
