Clergyman John General Rejects Rape Claims During Lusaka Court Testimony
Lusaka clergyman John Nundwe, popularly known as John General, has denied allegations that he raped a woman said to be a member of his church. The church leader was testifying before Lusaka Magistrate Amy Masoja as proceedings in the matter continue.

During his testimony, Nundwe told the court that he was forced to strip naked at gunpoint. He further claimed that he had been invited by the complainant to collect a gift after she allegedly conceived following prayers he had conducted for her. According to his account, the meeting was arranged by the complainant and was not connected to any criminal activity.
The clergyman also denied entering the complainant’s bedroom, where the alleged offence is said to have taken place. He disputed claims that the woman was a member of his church, maintaining that the prayers were conducted from a corridor rather than inside the house. Nundwe, who oversees Miracle Impact Ministries International, is accused of raping the woman on November 22, 2023, in Lusaka, an allegation he continues to deny.
