Chanda from Chanda Na Kay Faces Court Trial in Lusaka Case
Trial proceedings for musician Edward Chanda, a member of the Chanda Na Kay duo, are set to begin before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court, where he faces multiple charges involving alleged child trafficking, cyber grooming and child solicitation. According to court documents, the alleged offences are said to have occurred between July and August 2025 in Lusaka, involving a minor identified as WK.

Prosecutors claim that Chanda used digital platforms to initiate and facilitate inappropriate communication and to arrange meetings with the minor. He has denied all charges and is expected to defend himself as the case proceeds in court amid public attention due to his music career. Authorities say the matter remains under investigation as the court prepares to hear evidence and witness testimonies. Proceedings are expected to continue according to legal timelines given the seriousness of the allegations.
