Chanda Na Kay are a popular Zambian music duo from the Copperbelt Province, widely known for their energetic performances, catchy songs, and unique blend of Zambian sounds. The duo consists of Edward Chanda, professionally known as Apa Ni Chanda, and Kelvin Simfukwe, popularly known as Apa Ni Kay. They are signed to Nexus Music Entertainment and have become one of Zambia’s most successful musical groups.

Nicknamed “Aba Nyoli Nyoli,” Chanda Na Kay began their journey in the Copperbelt after growing up in Chimwemwe Township, Kitwe. Their music career officially took off in 2019, although both artists had been pursuing music individually before joining forces. Their chemistry, relatable lyrics, and vibrant performances quickly earned them recognition across Zambia.

Apa Ni Kay, born Kelvin Simfukwe on April 17, 1998, was born at Kitwe Central Hospital. He attended Buntungwa Primary School, later moved to Natwange Primary School, and completed his secondary education at Kitwe Boys Secondary School in 2017. He started his music career as a solo artist in 2013 before partnering with Edward Chanda to form Chanda Na Kay.

The duo rose to national fame with a string of hit songs that showcased their signature style and storytelling. Some of their most popular releases include Bella Bella, Chilowe, Itepe, Alikwi, Tulibamobene, Physically Fit, and Bulongo. Their music combines catchy melodies, humor, street culture, and everyday life experiences, making them fan favorites across Zambia and beyond.

Chanda Na Kay have also enjoyed tremendous success on the awards stage. In 2021, they won the Kwacha Music Award for Best Zambian Duo. They continued their impressive run by winning the Best Duo Award at the 8th African Entertainment Awards in 2022, becoming the first Zambian duo to receive the prestigious honor. They have also won multiple Nexus Music Awards and Zambezi Music Awards, further cementing their place among Zambia’s leading artists.

Beyond recording music, Chanda Na Kay have headlined major concerts and festivals, including performances during the Kopala Experience, where they thrilled thousands of fans.
