The family of Zambia’s sixth Republican President, Edgar Lungu, is expected to announce burial arrangements following a court ruling delivered by a South African High Court in their favor.

According to reports, the court found that the Zambian government had not sufficiently established reasons why the family’s wishes regarding burial arrangements should be overridden.

Meanwhile, youth advocate Tiza Mukuka has called on the government to continue engaging the Lungu family through dialogue and mutual understanding rather than pursuing further legal action.

Mukuka urged authorities to adopt a conciliatory approach, expressing hope that continued engagement could eventually lead to a resolution acceptable to both the government and the family. He emphasized the importance of respect, compromise, and national unity during the process.
